Smuggling of Migrants

Reliable data on the smuggling of migrants is hard to obtain, but smuggling conducted by criminal networks involving Nigerians and other West African nationals is of growing concern.

Trafficking in Persons

Human trafficking involves the movement and transfer of persons with the use of deceit, death bondage or abuse of position of authority in order that the person will be subjected to some form of exploitation or abuse.

HIV/AIDS-Related Care

Quality HIV/AIDS programs depend on individuals and organizations with solid monitoring and evaluation (M&E) experience—not to mention adequate infrastructure and resources.

Publications

His research works include” Recommendation to Raise the Effectiveness of Border Control in Nigeria”. He authored two books –“Improving Efficiency in Border Control in Nigeria” and “Combating Trafficking in Persons in Nigeria”.

Egwu care Foundation

Egwu Care Foundation (ECAF) has been existing before its formal registration with Government of Nigeria about a year ago The Foundation has trained some indigent students up to university level and they are now fully employed graduates. After the registration of the Foundation, it has conducted a workshop in collaboration with Orumba Forum Abuja, National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and SMEDAN where over 100 participants took part in the workshop The vision of the Foundation is to restore hope to the hopeless by acting to have a society free from illiteracy, spread of HIV/AIDS, exploitation of human beings through trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants.

Egwu Care Foundation, Says No to Human trafficking, child labor, Stigma on Hiv/aids victims.
The Foundation Centers its operations on anti-human trafficking, smuggling of persons, HIV/AIDS and community development. The Foundation has successfully conducted sensitization workshops in 2010 and 2013 in Umunze,Orumba South Local Government of Anambra State. ECAF in furtherance of its commitment to the promotion of the rights of women and children has been in the fore front of the battle against the trafficking of women and children in Nigeria. The Foundation has embarked on activities to reduce poverty in urban and rural areas by building the capacity of venerable groups, neglected groups like victims of HIV/AIDS, the disabled persons, women, youths and children, and empowering them to be independent and possible grow their enterprises to employ others. The result will reduction in crime, producing a new generation of entrepreneurs, reducing illiteracy, reduction in the number of prostitution, trafficked and smuggled persons to Europe. The Foundations activities will help in building an ordered society in line with Millennium Development Goals (MDG)
